Long ago a traveler happened upon the island of Wayle. He was tired and weary and decided to lie down against a rock. When he awoke he saw to his horror that he surrounded by a group of hungry dragons who were all standing quite close.

“Have mercy on me!” he cried, “for I come to you from the Great Emperor who sends his regards to you.” and he withdrew a beautiful egg from his cloak.

The dragons were amazed and took the Egg from him eagerly. He took leave as quickly as he could and vanished over the rise, never to be seen in Wayle again. The dragons did not know what to do, so they took the Egg and assumed it had magical qualities. They placed the Egg in a cave and left it there for safe keeping.

Years later the news of the magical Egg leaked out, and many kings wanted it. They sent people to bribe, barter, and steal the Egg. None were successful. But there was something that was wrong about the Egg story. The dragons never had a chance to speak to the man who had brought the Egg, therefor they didn’t know the truth about the Egg. In reality, the Egg was really just an ornamental Egg that the man was planning to bring to his cousin.
