PART ONE:
THE INTRUDER
Far off in the misty and somewhat secluded island of Wayle, Morka, the dragonqueen, held a secret council in a rocky cavern on the face of a cliff. There was an intruder on their island, and Morka wasn’t pleased.
“Slayvor!” she barked, her loud voice ringing unpleasantly. A dark green dragon, slightly younger than the rest, stepped forward, his head bowed in respect for his enraged queen. “Tell me why a …. a human has entered our peaceful domain?”
Slayvor raised his bent head and looked, trembling, up at the dragonqueen. “Milady, forgive me, I did not keep watch as closely as is needed for such a time as this. The intruder is sly and sneaky. Had I known such a fiend was about, I would have notified you immediately.”
“Krakor!” she said after a long pause, “send out the Guard.”
One response to “THE DRAGON’S EGG”
I think that is a very interesting way to start a book
